Cv-Library is a leading job search platform, dedicated to helping people find work. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Strategic Operations Leader to drive business growth and efficiency in our South African office.

As a key member of our leadership team, the Strategic Operations Leader will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our business unit in South Africa, ensuring seamless performance and growth across all departments. This role involves operational strategy, budget management, and resource optimization to meet organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of Admin, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR departments
  • Local support for implementing and optimizing systems (including Microsoft Dynamics) to improve operational efficiency
  • Continuous review and improvement of operational workflows to boost efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Serving UK, US, and Global markets, working closely with teams in CV-Library's international locations
  • Aligning operational plans with company growth and long-term objectives
  • Managing recruitment and retention in line with operational KPIs
  • IDentifying areas where local talent in South Africa can contribute to the group's operations
  • Active involvement in hiring decisions, managing leaders to ensure new starters have clear objectives prior to starting and quick onboarding
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing teams to ensure high performance and engagement
  • Fostering a culture that promotes teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Manage operations budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective practices
  • Lead local contract negotiations and vendor management to secure best practices and competitive pricing
  • Optimizing operational costs without compromising quality or service levels
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including health & safety, environmental, and labor laws specific to South Africa
  • Identifying potential risks to the business and developing strategies to mitigate them
  • Ensuring operations align with customer needs and expectations, enhancing service delivery and satisfaction
  • Serving as a point of contact for key stakeholders and partners to ensure strong relationships and alignment

We Offer:

A highly competitive salary of R1 500 000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree qualified in a relevant field
  • Proven track record of successful operational leadership in dynamic businesses, with at least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role in an operational office environment
  • Experience in the South African market, with a strong understanding of local regulations, compliance requirements, and labor laws
  • Sales or customer services experience essential, with experience of working in UK and US markets preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of business processes, supply chain management, and operational efficiency
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation
  • Significant experience with operational tools, including ERP and CRM (specifically Microsoft Dynamics) as well as HR software
