Job Title: Assets & Fleet Controller

Job Summary:

The Assets & Fleet Controller will provide technical, financial, and administrative support for operations and programme service delivery in the three supported districts in Mpumalanga Office. This role is based in the m2m CHAMP Office in Nelspruit and reports to the Finance and Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:Asset Management:
  • Verify, tag, and update the CHAMP Fixed Asset Register.
  • Initiate and document asset disposition in line with USAID rules and regulations.
  • Prepare audit requests and samples for CHAMP.
  • Delegate authority to approve vehicle requests.
  • Ensure asset safekeeping and security.
  • Provide other asset management support duties as necessary.
Fleet Management:
  • Help manage the organizational fleet and support in the procurement of vehicle rental and management of subsequent contracts.
  • Work with security to ensure mileage is logged and submit all vehicle logbooks.
  • Reconcile the petrol card statement with supporting documents.
  • Conduct vehicle tracking and spot checks.
Vehicle and Asset Insurance Management:
  • Work with the Program Officer to allocate project vehicles.
  • Review and e-file vehicle request documentation.
  • Enforce vehicle request protocols.
  • Coordinate authorized driver registration and training.
Inventory Management:
  • Conduct stock count and reconciliation.
  • Enforce CHAMP inventory and stock controls.
  • Manage stock receiving and dispatch controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business-related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Appreciation of accounting for assets and inventory management best practices.
  • Understanding of external and internal audit processes.
  • Conversant in English and at least one other African language.
  • Basic filing experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
Working Knowledge:

Working knowledge of siSwati and other local languages in Mpumalanga (e.g. isiZulu, isiNdebele, Northern Sotho, Xitsonga).
