Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in Applied Accounting

Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the field of accounting, with a focus on Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Taxation. The role will involve facilitating the learning process for students on our Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Accountancy programmes, as well as providing supervision at postgraduate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver course material, lectures, and tutorials in Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Taxation.
- Set and moderate assessments for students on our Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Accountancy programmes.
- Undertake research and scholarly activities to contribute to the creation of knowledge in the field of accounting.
- Engage with professional bodies and other stakeholders to promote the university's accounting programmes.
- Perform related administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the department.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a relevant NQF Level 9 qualification (Masters) with Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, or Taxation as core, and have at least three years of lecturing experience on both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Additionally, candidates must be a Professional Accountant (South Africa), Chartered Accountant (South Africa), or Chartered Managerial Accountant (CMA) in good standing with the relevant professional body.
