Job Summary

Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer English Language Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English as a Home & Second Language at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as teaching English as a Foreign language at a postgraduate level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English as a Home & Second Language at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Teach English as a Foreign language at a postgraduate level
  • Teach Meta Theories in Language at a postgraduate level
  • Supervise postgraduate students in Language and Education
  • Engage in the assessment of School-Based Learning and Teaching
  • Publish and lead research in the field of Language and Education
  • Participate in Community Engagement
Requirements
  • Relevant PhD or M Ed degree in Language in Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years experience in teaching English at a school level
  • At least 3 years experience in teaching English at a university level
  • Proven record of supervising M&D students to completion
  • Research productivity in and around the field of Language in Education
  • Sound disciplinary knowledge of Language in Education
