About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Head to lead our South African operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-impact strategies for sales growth and distribution expansion within South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership Role:
  • Set the tone for leadership within the sales department, focusing on team targets, growth opportunities, and product mix improvements.
  • Define and implement weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets, ensuring performance meets or exceeds department objectives.
Strategic Direction:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company objectives, driving revenue growth and optimizing market penetration.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop action plans, set KPIs, and align sales strategies with broader business goals.
Analytics and Insights:
  • Utilize analytics tools to assess sales performance, identifying trends, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct detailed market analyses to forecast trends, providing actionable insights that will enhance sales outcomes and profitability.
Productivity and Financial Management:
  • Ensure accurate, data-driven insights are available to support strategic decisions and financial planning across departments.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
  • Partner with product development, marketing, and other departments to align on product strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to market growth.
  • Drive product initiatives from conceptualization to launch, crafting unique strategies that ensure market success.
Relationship Building:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and customers, attending workshops, seminars, and networking events to represent and promote the brand.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of FMCG business principles.
  • 15+ years of experience in operations, business development, or sales within the FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record in sales, marketing, and distribution strategies within FMCG.
  • Strong leadership skills with executive presence, excellent analytical ability, and strong cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in prioritising, strategising, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Essential skills: change management, adaptability, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, results-driven, teamwork, and self-motivation.
