Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join our team at SGS. As a Business H&S Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSE strategies and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating hazards and improving safety performance.
  • Collaborate with site managers and employees to identify and address HSE concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance on HSE procedures and protocols to ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, and develop recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
  • Develop and maintain HSE documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards through regular audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in HSE management, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, including OHS Act and ISO 45001.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations for improving safety performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Environmental diploma or equivalent training.
  • Advanced Microsoft software experience.
  • Document and report writing experience.
