About the Role

We are seeking a young, hip, and ambitious individual to join our team as a Business Development Manager. Based in Gauteng, your role will be to help drive ticketing growth and contribute to the company's success. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead-sourcing and qualification across different verticals and event-types.
  • Client account administration, pitch preparation, and demos.
  • Attending client meetings with members of the Partnerships team.
  • Negotiating commercial terms with customers.
  • Closing deals and generating sustainable revenue.
  • Playing a key role in the running and development of our student brand ambassador network, in conjunction with our wider marketing team.
  • Visiting brand ambassadors at their respective universities and meeting clients they have introduced.
  • Assisting with access controls at events that require this.

Requirements

  • Understanding of ticketing and event management, including experience working with events companies.
  • Sales or account management experience at another fast-growing technology company.
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to spot/create opportunities.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Go-getting attitude – you're ambitious and believe you get out what you put in.
  • Self-starters who can think for themselves.
  • Comfortable pitching to customers and closing deals.
  • Right to work in South Africa.
  • Bilingual: English and Afrikaans essential.
  • Experience with CRM a must
  • 100% remote position based in Gauteng, with a home office that has backup power and wifi.
  • Own reliable transport.
