Job Title: HR Officer

The Individual Touch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Officer to join our team. As an HR Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the HR Department and contributing to a positive working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and amend contracts as necessary, ensuring all parties are aware of their obligations and responsibilities.
  • Administer the onboarding process for new employees, including internal communications, new joiner packs, and facility tours.
  • Provide support and input in new hire orientation, compiling and distributing relevant information as required.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees on HR-related queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Assist with payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Administer external training programs, ensuring employees receive the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Support recruitment administration, including placing internal and external adverts, screening and shortlisting applicants, and conducting interviews.
  • Compile increase letters, confirmation of employment letters, and certificate of service letters as requested.
  • Administer invoice payments for recruitment service providers.
  • Liaise with line managers to obtain contract renewal/ending information.
  • Manage Occupational Health and Safety, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Prepare EE online submissions, attend EE meetings, maintain all EE records, and assist with drafting the EE plan.
  • Assist with general HR and Payroll queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Manage employee exit processes, ensuring a smooth transition for departing employees.
  • Administer performance management, ensuring employees receive regular feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain and administer HR policies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties and projects as required.
  • Oversee and supervise the office team on day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate internal communication initiatives, ensuring effective communication across the organization.
  • Assist with employee events, including executive meetings, year-end functions, conferences, induction, and training.
Requirements:
  • Matric certificate
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
  • Proven experience as an HR Officer with 2+ years of experience
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Good understanding of all relevant Acts (LRA, BCEA, OSHA, COID, EEA)
  • ATR/WSP experience
  • Critical competencies: strong ethics and reliability, high level of confidentiality, meticulous HR administration skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent client service skills, ability to communicate confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, motivated, positive, can-do attitude, solution-oriented approach, professional and personable demeanor, proficient in MS Office, own reliable transport, process-driven, excellent command of verbal and written English, ability to organize and prioritize under pressure
