Your role at NTT DATA

The Senior Sales Executive is a pivotal management position typically found in regions with larger sales teams, where responsibilities are divided between the Senior Sales Executive and Sales Manager roles.

In these settings, the Senior Sales Executive stands as the highest-ranking sales professional in the organization, generally reporting to the branch manager. This position receives guidance on sales strategy from the Senior Director of Sales. In extensive operations, the Senior Sales Executive may report to the Director of Sales.

The Senior Sales Executive is accountable for overseeing Sales Managers and/or a team of Client Managers and/or Sales Specialists. The primary goal of this role is to meet sales objectives and implement the business strategy within the Sales teams through effective management of territories and targets, while providing strategic support to senior Client Managers. This is achieved by inspiring team members and ensuring exceptional sales performance.

The Senior Sales Executive role encompasses management, selling, coaching, and leadership tasks, aimed at empowering the sales team to achieve their assigned sales goals.

Responsibilities

Key Duties:

Collaborates with regional Sales Leadership and decision-makers to support the formulation of a sales strategy that aligns with the strategic objectives outlined in the global and regional organizational strategy. Establishes the approach the sales force will take in the market and determines the targets for the sales force to achieve and exceed. Contributes to and ensures adherence to sales procedures and policies as defined by sales leadership. Promotes alignment with sales and organizational strategies by developing operational plans and identifying opportunities for continuous enhancement in the sales process. Manages the operational aspects of the team, creating and executing plans while reporting on team activities in the necessary forums. Participates in account planning and assists the Client Manager in qualifying opportunities for significant or complex deals. Engages with vendors and partners to develop go-to-market strategies alongside their sales teams. Acts as a mentor/coach and advisor, assisting the sales force in prioritizing activities. Holds ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and updates of sales tools/systems and sales reports. Monitors sales performance, analyzes metrics, and adjusts sales plans as necessary. Remains informed about industry trends, competitor actions, and emerging technologies, utilizing insights to refine sales approaches and maintain a competitive edge.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong sales acumen, with the ability to drive successful selling through an organizational and business outcome mindset. Success necessitates a focus on planning, leveraging tools and data, and addressing company business requirements. Proficient in client engagement and management, with skills to effectively manage and analyze client relationships throughout the lifecycle, aiming to enhance client relations and stimulate sales growth. Knowledgeable in sales solutions, understanding the company's offerings, client applications, use cases, and market trends, and applying them to specific client situations. Skilled in optimizing sales resources, building internal relationships, collaborating with pursuit teams, and leveraging vendors throughout the sales cycle. Adept in sales pursuit, with the capability to identify and advance opportunities at assigned prospects and clients. Competent in executing sales strategies that align with business objectives. Experienced in sales business management, ensuring target setting and associated processes are aligned with meeting objectives. Proficient in talent management and enablement, ensuring results are achieved through effective management of sales talent.

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing, or a related field.

Required Experience:

Extensive experience in a sales management role, preferably within a global technology services organization. Significant sales experience in a similar environment. Proven experience in strategic planning and operational execution. Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business outcomes. Experience in negotiating critical matters. Experience in go-to-market planning and execution.
