Job Title: Strategic Communications Director

Estimated Salary: R1 200 000 - R1 800 000 per annum

Job Description:

As the Strategic Communications Director at Amatola Water, you will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated communications strategies that support the organisation's goals and objectives.

You will work closely with senior management to develop and manage all marketing and communication programmes across the organisation, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications strategy for the organisation
  • Manage and coordinate all marketing and communication programmes, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, and corporate publications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, government institutions, and community groups
  • Provide strategic support in all marketing and communication-related matters
  • Act as the spokesperson and key media liaison for Amatola Water
  • Facilitate development of appropriate responses to media enquiries
  • Conceptualise and lead the development, production, printing, and distribution of internal and external publications, including print and electronic media
  • Identify and develop effective supplementary communication channels to maximise the dissemination of corporate communication
  • Develop and coordinate the organisation's public relations initiatives
  • Lead all public relations activities, including community engagements and public awareness programmes

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent (NQF 7)
  • At least 7 years post-graduate experience in broad-spectrum marketing, corporate communications, planning, stakeholder relations, and media relations, with 5 years at management level
