Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Insurance Sales Executive, you will be responsible for identifying potential clients and presenting them with suitable product proposals. Your primary focus will be on securing policy sales and building lasting relationships with clients.


Core Skills

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and a strong understanding of both Commercial and Personal lines insurance. You will be bilingual in Afrikaans and English and have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the insurance industry. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong negotiation skills.


Requirements

  • Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
  • 8 years in the insurance industry.
  • 5 years exp. Commercial and Personal lines.
  • Updated Date of First Appointment.
  • Short-term Insurance qualification.
  • RE 5 Certification.
  • Product Specific Training.
  • Class of Business – Commercial and Personal Lines.
  • CPD hours in the current cycle.
  • Extensive knowledge of all classes of insurance and related products.
  • Proven sales and marketing track record in Insurance.
  • Experience with insurance systems such as Flexi and Cardinal 360

Job Outline

The Commercial Insurance Sales Executive will be responsible for:



  • Identifying potential clients and presenting them with suitable product proposals.
  • Building relationships with clients to ensure retention of business and facilitate new business.
  • Completing and accurate administration related to all policies and clients.
  • Developing a client base through active networking.
  • Analysing client needs through interviews and/or inspections.
  • Explaining features, advantages, and disadvantages to clients and closing sales.
  • Identifying and proposing the best products to clients.
  • Calculating premiums and establishing payment methods.
  • Calculating premiums, refunds, commissions, adjustments, and new reserve requirements using insurance rate standards.
  • Determining risks through inspections and/or analysis of data.
  • Fulfilling policy requirements such as documentation and medicals.
  • Preparing worksheets for policies and entering them into the computer system.
  • Collecting initial premiums and issuing receipts in conjunction with the accounts department.
  • Notifying the insurance agent and accounts department of policy cancellations.
  • Informing the underwriter of updated policies and claims.
  • Notifying clients of changes by the insurer and vice versa.
  • Maintaining knowledge of insurer products offered.
  • Proposing new product ideas.
  • Gathering and communicating competitor information.
