We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Leader to join our team at Primeserv Denverdraft. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the pricing function across our short-term insurance offerings, including Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Marine, Engineering, and Hospitality.

About the Role

As a Pricing Leader, you will be part of our dynamic pricing team, which consists of approximately 10 professionals. You will work closely with various stakeholders across the business, including Broker Distribution and Underwriting, to ensure that we meet our ongoing financial targets. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Pricing of existing and potential new lines of business, analyzing portfolio results to guide pricing decisions, and informing alternative courses of action to achieve business goals.
  • Managing and leading the pricing team, translating organisation plans into implementable pricing bases and risk management strategies.
  • Developing and co-developing pricing best practices, including systems design and procedures to achieve business goals, and assisting in the implementation of systems and tools as needed.
  • Overseeing the pricing tools used by our organisation, including contracting, budgeting, implementation, and alignment to best practices.
  • Providing actuarial support and advice to senior management, creating and maintaining business reports to monitor profitability and identify market opportunities.
About the Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum NQF Level 7 degree in Actuarial Science or a related field, with a preference for a Qualified FASSA designation from the Actuarial Society of South Africa or an international equivalent.
  • A minimum five years' short-term insurance pricing experience, including modelling and deployment.
  • Experience of providing actuarial advice to senior management, underwriting and portfolio management experience with market practice acumen.
  • Five or more years of general management experience, with exposure to project management and large IT development projects.
