Code Red Recruitment is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join our team in Johannesburg. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual to work with us.

The estimated salary for this role is between R250,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Freight Forwarding Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating the flow of shipments, ensuring timely clearance, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  1. Shipment Coordination:
  • Obtain shipment details and documents from origin stations
  • Request shipping documents and shipment details from origin to start the clearing process at destination
  • Quality check pre-alerts to ensure correct selling rates were applied and all documents are present
RCG (Release Cargo Goods) Management:
  • Ensure relevant shipment information is captured in Cargo Wise to transmit SARS RCG information
  • Implement KPIs to measure RCG capture success rate
  • Streamline the RCG activity by implementing processes to improve efficiency
Vessel Tracking:
  • Track and trace vessels on route
Communication:
  • Keep clients and stakeholders updated on re-shipment events daily via email and status reports
Freight Rates Management:
  • Assist with updating freight rates on master sheets and client rate sheets as received from carriers
Requirements:
  • Maturity or equivalent of senior certification
  • Computer literate
  • All modes – Air, Ocean & Road
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in freight forwarding and RCG submissions
