We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Vehicle Dealer Principal to lead our dealership's operations, ensuring efficient and profitable performance.

R 35 000.00 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

Company Overview: Our client is a reputable dealership in the motor industry, committed to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Purpose Of The Job: To ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the Dealership, managing daily concerns and playing a crucial role during selection and interviews for management positions within the dealership.

Duties:

  • Manage new and pre-owned commercial vehicle sales, including stock levels, ageing, rebates, and realising outstanding rebates and writebacks.
  • Ensure full stock list advertising on new vehicles and expeditious resolving of customer complaints.
  • Price setting: Ensure that sales staff stay competitive and have knowledge of vehicle prices.
  • Marketing of new cars: Ensure that marketing plans are in place, reviewing data, costs, OEM requirements, etc.
  • Deal file reviews: Ensure that staff are aware that information on deal files is correct and understand the legal aspects thereof.
Parts Management:
  • Check parts sale recons and statements.
  • Manage parts debtors in terms of account holders, managing accounts, and how they are created.
  • Manage parts stock holding and ageing of stock, ensuring stock holding of fast movers and keeping stock levels at a controllable low level.
  • Ensure daily perpetual stock takes and quarterly full stock takes are performed.
Workshop Management:
  • WIP (work in progress report) management, identifying problems early.
  • Manage cash sales to ensure daily banking and elimination of fraud on cash deals.
  • Managing warranty and service claims with regards to ageing and write offs.
  • Ensure daily bookings are maximised to ensure optimal flow through the workshop.
General Management/ Accounting:
  • Manage day-to-day concerns of dealership operations.
  • Play a crucial role during selection and interviews for management positions within the dealership.
  • Provide direction and structure for all departments as it relates to risk, profitability, and staff.
  • Ensure CSI within the dealerships are maintained.
  • Ensure dealerships achieve status levels.
  • Reduce inefficient expenses at the dealership.
  • Ensure net profitability of the dealership.
  • Check creditors report and manage payments.
  • Manage the credit note file review, sign off on all creditor notes.
  • Manage petty cash recons and floats.
  • Checking of cash on hand and bank recons.
  • Manage payroll in terms of sign off on recons, payslips, inputs, incentives, etc.
