About the role

Australian Regional & Remote Community Services is seeking a highly skilled First Nations Cultural Specialist to join their team in Alice Springs.

This role will see you working with our First Nations programs to ensure our residents and clients remain connected to their culture and country. You will be part of a dedicated team providing culturally sensitive activities and information to support our elderly residents.

As a self-starter, you will be proactive and able to work independently. You will be comfortable working on a full-time or part-time basis and able to commit to a set roster of shifts and hours. Some travel across the Northern Territory may be required for this role.

We are looking for someone who identifies or has a close cultural connection with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. Ideally, you will have knowledge of local traditions and be able to communicate effectively with our community.

Skills & experience

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families.
  • Ability to use own initiative, work autonomously with sound judgement.
