The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care services, implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs, and monitoring microorganisms cultured at unit level.

About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care services, evaluating all aspects of patient care.
  • Implement antimicrobial stewardship programs and monitor microorganisms cultured at unit level.
  • Compile antibiograms and discuss trends with local microbiologists.
  • Drive improvements in hospital program metrics, clinical pharmacy processes, and patient safety.
  • Utilize surveillance systems to support prioritization and work practices in wards.
  • Support cost-of-care initiatives, projects, and implement customer satisfaction and quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree.
  • Postgraduate Master's Degree in Clinical Pharmacy acknowledged by the South African Pharmacy Council.
  • Relevant clinical knowledge and experience in hospital environments.
  • Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a pharmacist.
  • Understanding of pharmacy industry, legislation, regulation, and challenges.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office.
