Job Description

This exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled HR Generalist to join our team at Pro Tem Recruitment in Muizenberg.

As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment and selection, staff onboarding and exit, employee information management, training management, employee benefits and wellness, employee relations, HR policy and procedure implementation, financial management, and reporting.

You will work closely with the management team and all members of staff to ensure that HR processes are efficient and effective.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a relevant degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management, as well as a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a generalist HR role.

They will also have experience and knowledge of Sage HR system, be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and selection: develop job profiles, develop interview questionnaires, oversee the recruitment and selection process, and shortlist candidates.
  • Staff onboarding and exit: manage the implementation of induction programmes, make necessary arrangements for new staff, onboard new staff, and make necessary arrangements for staff leavers.
  • Employee information management: monitor employee personal information, check that all employees' documents are uploaded on HR Premier, and ensure that all records are up-to-date and properly saved.
  • Training management: manage staff training and development, liaise with managers on staff training needs, identify training programmes, and sign off training invoices.
  • Employee benefits and wellness: advise staff on different medical aid options and pension fund benefits, issue staff with application forms, and verify that staff are added to the benefit schemes.
  • Employee relations: develop staff performance contracts, implement performance management process, facilitate disciplinary hearing, and act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters.
  • HR policy and procedure implementation: develop policies in line with the HR strategy, review the implementation of HR policies and procedures, and provide support in the implementation of organizations policies and procedures.
  • Financial management: develop the budget, monitor spend against budget, and track expenditure.
  • Reporting: develop and provide input on Employment Equity, salary survey, organizational annual report, WSP / ATR reports, and any other committee reports.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of a relevant degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience and knowledge of Sage HR system.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS.
