Crew Life at Sea is seeking an experienced Sous Chef Saucier to join our galley operations team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in cooking techniques, including sautéing, braising, and roasting.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in line with company standards.
- Assisting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including inventory management and supply ordering.
- Developing new menu items in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
- Training and supervising junior chefs to ensure consistent presentation and quality of dishes.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless galley operations.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and grooming standards.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef Saucier or similar position in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
- A culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, including sautéing, braising, and roasting.
- Strong understanding of flavor profiles and ability to create balanced and flavorful sauces.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing dishes.
- Ability to work long hours and adapt to a flexible schedule.
