We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Operations Manager to join our team.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about retail operations and management. As a Senior Retail Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one of our top FMCG retail clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the shop floor, including managing stock levels, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and implementing sales promotions.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets by analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
  • Lead a team of retail staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and employee satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback, ensuring that all issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Serve customers as needed, providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with regular customers.
  • Create and manage rotas and shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of product display and presentation, ensuring that products are well-merchandised and easily accessible to customers.
  • Manage deliveries and inventory, ensuring that products are received and stored efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position, with a strong track record of success in a retail environment.
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, with the ability to analyze data, create reports, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with experience in leading teams and managing multiple priorities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • Problem-solving attitude, with the ability to think critically and creatively in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Salary

The salary for this role is R250,000 per annum, plus benefits and bonuses based on performance.

Location

This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
