About the Role:

As a Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer at Amazon Data Services South Africa (Pty) Ltd, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and reliability of our data centers. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems that meet the stringent requirements of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop electrical systems for new data center builds and upgrades, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders on electrical system design and operation, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong background in electrical engineering, preferably with experience in the design and operation of high availability data centers. You should be able to demonstrate expertise in electrical system design, including power distribution, electrical distribution, and lighting systems. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of local building codes and regulations is highly desirable.
