Data Center Operations Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations professional to join our team at Dimension Data. As a Data Center Operations person, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our data centers, ensuring the smooth delivery of services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections of data center facilities, including generators, UPS, fire systems, air conditioning, electrical distribution, access control, CCTV, and general housekeeping.
  • Log and resolve incidents with suppliers and vendors within agreed service level agreements.
  • Administer service sheets, job cards, and monthly reports.
  • Implement and enforce formal data center policies and procedures.
  • Provide high-quality access control support and facilitate a positive experience for clients within our data centers.
  • Ensure the security and safety of clients and equipment within our data centers.
  • Operate and engage with internal systems and technologies to drive service delivery.
  • Attend scheduled training and successfully complete assessments.
  • Occasionally travel between data center locations and provide standby cover on a rotational basis.
Requirements
  • Data center accreditation (CDCE/P/S/FOM).
  • Wireman's accreditation.
  • Technical competency with data center facilities (generator, UPS, A/C, electrical).
  • 5-10 years of data center facilities management and/or data center engineering management experience.
  • Knowledge relevant to data center operations.
  • Advantageous: Bachelor's degree in engineering or facility management.
