As an Electrical Engineer for Data Centers, you will play a critical role in ensuring the design, construction, and operation of Amazon's data centers meet the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to internal teams, as well as collaborating with external partners and vendors to deliver complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution, electrical switchgear, and cooling systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including data center operations, design engineering, and construction teams.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and training materials.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Develop and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce data center energy consumption.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to deliver complex projects, including design, construction, and commissioning.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8-10 years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering, with a focus on mission critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, electrical switchgear, and cooling systems.
- Experience with building codes and regulations, including OSHA and NFPA standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
