Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Commercial Account Executive to join our team at The Recruitment Council. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lines short-term insurance and excellent client-facing skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert financial advice and exceptional client service to retain current clients and secure new business.
  • Ensure new business targets are met by generating leads and securing new business.
  • Strive to achieve the agreed income budget for book of business.
  • Ensure and contribute to minimization of expenses.
  • Support and further the growth strategy of the group.
  • Communicate accurately and professionally with stakeholders, including clients, underwriters, and insurers.
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver an excellent client service experience and achieve client satisfaction targets.
  • Apply expert business knowledge to understand clients' operations and compile risk profiles.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of clients' current portfolios and advise on the need for updated valuations.
  • Provide timely professional services, including obtaining quotes and conducting market exercises.
  • Compile and deliver presentations that address and mitigate risks and add value to clients' portfolios.
  • Support clients throughout the claims process until finalization.
  • Act as liaison between clients and insurers to facilitate the transfer of documents and information.
  • Follow and ensure adherence to underwriting processes for new business, endorsements, and cancellations.
  • Engage in clear, complete, and timely communication regarding underwriting support required from the underwriting support team.
  • Remain informed regarding movements on clients' portfolios and act proactively to solve any issues or problems.
  • Action age analysis to ensure continued cover.
  • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy.
  • Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement in own and team performance.
  • Adhere to company mandates.
  • Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation, and/or dishonesty.
  • Keep accurate records of own activities.
  • Live the company's way by committing to organisational values.
  • Ensure continuous professional and self-development.
  • Keep abreast of features, benefits, and ratings of insurance products available on the market.
  • Share information and knowledge with the team.

Requirements:

  • 8 years' experience in commercial lines short-term insurance in a client-facing role.
  • RE5 qualification and FAIS compliance.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and sales skills.
  • Driven and self-motivated individual with a valid driver's license and reliable transport.
