We are working with one of the most prestigious wineries in the world to find an experienced Executive Culinary Assistant to join their team in Cape Town - Stellenbosch.

The ideal candidate will have a culinary certificate/diploma and 1-2 years of experience as an Executive Culinary Assistant in a 5-star restaurant. They must also be available to work within standard opening hours, which may include evenings, public holidays, and weekends.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading winery in a beautiful location. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef and other Senior Chefs, ensuring that all food items meet high standards of quality and freshness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting other chefs in the kitchen to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow
  • FOLLOWING recipes and standards to ensure consistency in food preparation
  • Assisting with deliveries to ensure that ingredients are received on time
  • Conducting daily checks of mis-en-place to ensure quality and freshness standards are met
  • Maintaining product rotation to minimize waste and ensure optimal stock levels
  • Developing menu knowledge to make informed decisions about food options
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness and maintenance standards in the kitchen
  • Ensuring that procedures and standards in the kitchen are followed at all times
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation policies to prevent contamination and illness
  • Displaying professionalism and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
  • Working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and workload demands
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress in a fast-paced environment
