Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all farm operations, including orchards, gardens, vegetables, livestock, game, and maintenance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring effective delegation and performance management.
  • Develop and implement production plans to optimise yield and quality.
  • Manage and execute crop production tasks such as irrigation, fertilisation, pest control, and harvesting.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards while prioritising cost-efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and prepare farming division reports.
  • Assist in fostering a guest-friendly environment in line with the farm's high standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in stone fruit or similar agricultural operations.
  • Experience in guest farm management is advantageous.

Competencies:

  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
  • Strong work ethic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven management and leadership capabilities.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to enforce discipline.
  • Effective project planning and monitoring abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and innovation in farming practices.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of farming with nature, permaculture, and organic principles.
  • Mechanically inclined with expertise in tractors, equipment, and general machinery.
  • Ability to manage small-scale improvement projects.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and oversee budgets.
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-effective measures.
