Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead our South African expansion, driving innovation and growth through strategic partnerships with local players. You'll be responsible for building relationships with mobile network operators, eWallet services, banks, and payment service providers (PSPs), ensuring seamless integration into our payment network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Strategic Partnerships: Identify and onboard new partners in the South African payments landscape, negotiating deals and collaborating on marketing strategies.
  • Championing Partner Success: Work closely with partners to solve problems and ensure they're fully integrated and compliant with our standards.
  • Leading the Local Payments Strategy: Develop and execute strategies that position us as a leader in the local market, while keeping an eye on the broader African region.
  • Regulatory Insight & Influence: Stay ahead of the game, navigating complex licensing, banking, and settlement regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to bring projects from concept to execution, integrating partners smoothly and closing contracts without issues.
  • Be the Face of the Brand: Represent us at the highest level, building rapport with decision-makers and positioning us as their go-to payment partner.

Requirements

We're looking for a Bold Self-Starter with experience in payments, telco, eCommerce, or FinTech. As a Payments Visionary, you'll combine data-driven decision-making with out-of-the-box thinking, executing strategies grounded in insight but unafraid to push boundaries.

What You'll Bring:

  • A degree or diploma in business, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in business development, project management, or product development, with a solid 5 years in the payments, remittance, or aggregation sectors.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English. Additional languages? That's a major advantage.

Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on your skills and experience.
