The Road Accident Fund is seeking a highly skilled Legal Administrator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a Legal Administrator, you will be accountable for processing documentation related to claims settlement and coordinating processes that contribute to the efficient early settlement of claims disputes outside court proceedings.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and develop your skills in legal administration, dispute resolution, and negotiation.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Transcribing and proofreading legal documents for settlement discussions.
  • Collating directives and updating case file databases.
  • Retrieving information as requested in the office.
  • Administering processes related to arbitration of disputes between parties.
  • Briefing experts for claim administration purposes.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of documents under control and accurate delivery to intended recipients.
  • Following up on outstanding matters on behalf of the Legal Administration department.
  • Documenting proceedings and tracking action logs related to claim settlements.
  • Filing all settlement agreements.

You will also have the opportunity to work on block settlements, arranging meetings and managing court documentation and filing. Additionally, you will contribute to report preparation and submission, providing regular progress updates and informing management decisions.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience in a legal administration-related environment.

You should possess strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills, along with personal mastery, judgement, and decision-making capabilities. Your technical and behavioral competencies should include dispute resolution, mediation, and negotiating skills, as well as legislation and regulatory knowledge, including Personal Injury and Third-Party Compensation laws.
