Job Summary: Business Systems Analyst

The ideal candidate will engage directly with Electrum customers to elicit, agree on, and document requirements. They will work closely with development teams to deliver complex technical projects, ensuring a strong understanding of computer systems and programming.

The key responsibility is to guarantee that the end product meets customer requirements and expectations, minimizing surprises for both Electrum's customers and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirement Analysis
    • Identify critical project stakeholders and manage their expectations effectively.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements from various sources.
    • Conduct thorough research, design solutions, analyze requirements, and elicit customer input.
  • Technical Analysis
    • Document requirements by bridging technical information with business needs.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and create comprehensive documentation, including diagramming.
    • Clarify requirements to development teams, using industry-specific jargon, and discuss requirements with technical staff at customer sites.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Evaluate quality by ensuring the technical solution meets customer requirements.
    • Create testing documentation and tools used by the development team.
    • Support the development team during testing with the customer.
    • Verify test results and ensure customer requirements are met during the testing cycle.
    • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
    • Suggest and implement process improvements.
    • Coach and mentor team members.
What You'll Do:
  • Be fully involved in technical aspects at Electrum:
    • Understand 3rd party APIs and map between different stakeholder APIs without developer assistance.
    • Critically evaluate test evidence to ensure testers have covered all scenarios correctly.
    • Create test servers and use technical testing tools like Postman to create test packs.
    • Contribute to technical internal discussions with developers regarding software architecture, requiring a technical understanding of the Electrum product.
    • Be an SME for Electrum products in your team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering or related discipline (e.g. BCom IT).
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant working experience or 1 - 2 years in an IT Business Analyst role.
  • Experience in analytical thinking and writing.
  • Experience working with customers and communicating in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • A Business Analyst certification.
  • Experience in the payments space.
  • Experience working in agile development teams.
Salary Range:

R500,000 - R700,000 per annum, depending on experience.
