SEIDOR Networks is a leading provider of IT solutions, and we are currently seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our clients, ensuring that their IT needs are met promptly and efficiently.

Salary Estimate: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert technical support to our clients via phone, email, and remote desktop;
  • Identifying and resolving hardware and software issues on laptops and desktops;
  • Maintaining accurate records of all support interactions using our call logging system;
  • Collaborating with senior network engineers to resolve complex technical issues;
  • Participating in training and professional development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge;
  • Ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction by delivering timely and effective support services;
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical support role, preferably in the IT industry;
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, DHCP, DNS, and other relevant technologies;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (for occasional travel to client sites);
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (desirable).

Desirable Skills and Certifications

  • A+ / N+ certification;
  • ITIL Foundation certification;
  • Experience with Solarwinds N-Able, ConnectWise Automate, and other relevant tools;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server Operating Systems, and Hyper-V;
  • Basic understanding of switching, VLANs, routing, NAT, dynamic routing, packet flow, email flow, MTA communication, UTM, and firewall appliances;
  • Basic scripting skills;
  • Familiarity with Mimecast, cPanel, and other relevant systems.
