Business Development Manager for Fresh Produce

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Expand client base within multiple commodity groups and areas within South Africa and other receiver markets across the world.
  • Sales and Relationship Building: Promote products/services, nurture client relationships, and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Product Development: Contribute to product prioritization and development, ensuring effective product use and additions to the existing portfolio.
  • Client Acquisition and Growth: Focus on expanding the client base, ensuring new client engagement, and analyzing operational processes and logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a logistics provider, export business, perishable commodity agent/retailer, or commercial farming company in a planning, operational, logistics, or solutions role.
  • Skills: Proven track record in client acquisition and growth, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Self-driven and motivated to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Proven ability to be part of a team and collaborate across departments.
