Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Project Manager to lead our capital investment type projects within a matrix organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and overseeing the project portfolio to ensure timely completion, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Portfolio Management: Lead the team of project managers for all capital investment and plant engineering project portfolio, ensuring effective management of schedule, cost, and scope.
  2. Decision-Making: Drive decision-making to ensure projects move forward, minimizing delays and setbacks, and maintaining accountability throughout the project portfolio.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Keep project stakeholders informed on progress and aligned throughout the course of the projects, providing timely communication to stakeholders.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to legal requirements, policies, procedures, and other company standards to ensure safe project execution.
  5. Financial Management: Perform financial analysis, including the preparation of project budgets, and establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  6. Team Development: Coach and mentor Project Managers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Project Management function at the company.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Minimum B-Eng./B-Tech Project Management or relevant NQF 7 equivalent qualification.
  2. Experience: At least 7 years extensive Project Management experience and 5 years on portfolio management level.
  3. Skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Projects and MS Project server, computer literate (Word, Excel, MS Projects & PowerPoint), and excellent communication, planning, organizing, and presentation skills.
