Overview and Purpose of the Role:

The expansion of our business offerings has led to the establishment of a dedicated distribution channel for face-to-face interactions. This newly formed role of Insurance Sales Consultant is pivotal in enhancing our business insurance portfolio.

The individual in this position will be tasked with the growth and development of client relationships and insurance sales. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business opportunities
  • Providing exceptional client service and management
  • Achieving high performance metrics

The Insurance Sales Consultant must embody the values of OUTsurance, which include Awesome Service, Passion, Honesty, Humanity, Dynamism, and Recognition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a personal insurance portfolio by:
  • Proactively seeking new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Engaging effectively with both internal teams and clients.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments for clients.
  • Offering tailored solutions by marketing OUTsurance short-term products that meet client needs.
  • Creating, monitoring, and evaluating a personal business strategy.
  • Delivering ongoing support and service to your client base, including amendments, renewals, and claims assistance.
  • Maintaining existing business through renewal discussions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with clients.
  • Continuously expanding your client base to secure future income.
  • Staying informed about changes and developments in the commercial insurance market.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Providing feedback to management as required.
  • Participating in all scheduled team meetings.
  • Collaborating closely with internal departments such as underwriting, actuarial, and claims.
  • Adhering to established quality standards and measures.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • FAIS credits or Full Insurance Qualifications (as applicable)
  • RE5 certification (as applicable)
  • Possession of reliable transportation
  • Valid code B driver's license
  • A minimum of 3 years in external sales

Reporting Structure:

The Insurance Sales Consultant will report directly to the Regional Manager and will collaborate closely with the broader Face-to-Face Distribution team.
