Job Title: Territory Sales Agent and Branch Teller

Mukuru is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Territory Sales Agent and Branch Teller to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our sales and service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring the efficient processing of remittance transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on our financial services and products.
  • Analyze and monitor transaction details to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Motivate and assist customers to transact with Mukuru, promoting our services and products.
  • Activate customers for new corridors and gather location-specific information on sales.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of marketing collateral and report back to management.
  • Engage with potential customers and market our enterprise products.
  • Custodianship of the Mukuru brand and maintenance of its standard.
  • Welcome and greet customers in a professional manner, identifying their needs and preferences.
  • Collect and check required documentation, scanning clear copies and verifying customer information.
  • Verify current exchange rates and explain them to customers, matching names and IDs before processing transactions.
  • Capture all transaction details in our system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Double-check and count money in view of cameras, confirming values with customers when selling FX.
  • Check the authenticity of notes when buying FX, printing and signing invoices/receipts, and archiving them accurately.
  • Check the validity of passports, proof of residence, and flight tickets, referring customers to other agents if necessary.
  • Escalate suspicious documentation to the branch manager before processing.
  • Complete indemnity forms for new and high-value customers, obtaining daily passwords for the safe and retrieving float.
  • Notify finance and receive top-ups as needed, conducting stock counts at the end of each day.
  • Verify stock totals match system records, capturing shorts and notifying management.
  • Compile weekly and monthly spreadsheet reports, completing daily system tests and quizzes.
  • Submit monthly assignments timeously, attending quarterly training and test sessions.
  • Provide professional customer service, maintaining confidentiality and monitoring targets.
  • Attend monthly performance meetings with the Head of Branches, improving Chinese language skills and writing monthly tests.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 - High school graduate.
  • Chinese language-related certificate.
  • Understanding and speaking of Mandarin (essential).
  • 2 years of customer service consultant experience within a financial institution.
  • 2 years of sales experience within a financial institution.
  • 2 years of Chinese-related work experience.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange.
  • Knowledge of exchange control regulations.
  • Knowledge of FICA regulations.
  • Knowledge of money laundering.
  • Knowledge of customer service.
