Job Title: Sales Engineer – Electronics and Appliances Sector

At Alinta Tech Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for maximizing sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory or market segment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement account sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Business Planning: Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy.
  • Execution and Contingency Planning: Execute business plans effectively and develop contingencies for plan failures.
  • Product and Service Management: Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins in line with agreed objectives.
Market Analysis:
  • Market Share Growth: Increase market share by identifying new niches, applications, and products.
  • Market and Competitor Monitoring: Monitor and report on market and competitor activities, and manage promotions and specials.
  • Market and Sales Trend Analysis: Analyze market and sales trends and provide regular reports.
  • Local Marketing Support: Plan and support local marketing activities within agreed budgets and timescales, integrating sales efforts with other marketing activities.
Technical Knowledge:
  • HVAC Technical Expertise: Possess strong HVAC technical knowledge (both product and selection software).
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with developers, consulting engineers, and contractors.
  • Manufacturer Listings: Ensure the company is listed on the specified manufacturer's list of consulting engineers.
  • Equipment Selection: Select the right equipment, considering all vital performance factors.
Project Management:
  • Project Pipeline Management: Maintain a healthy projects pipeline for the assigned market.
  • Project Follow-up: Conduct strong follow-ups on projects from spec-in to tender and final decision-making.
  • Project Registration: Ensure projects are listed and registered on our B2B system.
  • Project Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress and engage in clear discussions during weekly pipeline meetings.
New Business Development:
  • Business Growth Strategies: Develop unique strategies to grow the business with customers.
  • Challenge Resolution: Provide solutions to management when faced with challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Liaise with corporate contacts to build and develop relationships.
  • Contractual Agreements: Assist with the preparation of contractual agreements and ensure full adherence.
  • Tendering Process: Handle the full tendering process, including writing proposals, costing, and motivations.
Strong Customer Relationships:
  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage the relationship between the company and its customers.
  • Customer Partnership: Treat customers as partners and encourage them to grow their business with our brands.
  • Customer Contact Management: Use customer and prospect contact activity tools and systems, and update relevant information.
  • Customer Base: Customers include developers, consulting engineers, contractors, distributors, and dealers.
Reporting:
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide reports and analysis as required.
  • Presentations and Proposals: Prepare presentations, proposals, plans, and contact reports as necessary.
Desired Experience and Qualification:

Qualification:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering: Degree or Diploma in Engineering.

Experience:

  • Engineering Sales Experience: 3 to 5 years of engineering sales experience.
  • Market Analysis Knowledge: Knowledge of market analysis.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an advanced level.
  • CAD and Revit Experience: CAD and Revit experience is a plus.
  • Database Management: Ability to use databases for recording and reporting.
