Position Overview:

The Marketing and Communications Specialist role is an essential position within our organization, providing support across various departments. This entry-level role includes a thorough introduction to fundamental marketing techniques and strategies.

Responsibilities:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will collaborate with the Marketing Manager to enhance company profitability and devise effective sales strategies or marketing initiatives across our conference offerings. This position demands an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on executing comprehensive marketing strategies to boost website traffic, generate quality leads, and increase attendance at relevant conferences and exhibitions through diverse direct and online marketing channels.

Key Duties:
- Contribute to the development, support, and execution of field marketing and segment activities to impact sales outcomes.
- Implement marketing campaigns and promotions tailored to specific expertise.
- Collaborate with clients to support marketing initiatives.
- Partner with corporate and marketing managers to design customized programs and strategies for various market segments.
- Provide project management and coordination to ensure successful promotions.
- Monitor the utilization of existing sales tools and suggest requirements for additional resources.
- Promote events and collaborate with Account Development to enhance awareness and drive attendance from targeted audiences.
- Propose innovative ideas to generate revenue for diverse clientele.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of marketing, public relations, and communications results and activities.

Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Marketing Managers to implement a cohesive marketing strategy for exhibitions and conferences, including campaigns for exhibitors, conferences, and visitors.
- Contribute insights and ideas to the strategic planning process.
- Analyze existing databases for direct marketing purposes.
- Initiate and oversee the quality of database development to ensure effective marketing channels for all target audiences, including sourcing relevant lists for research.
- Manage and report on the progress against established plans and objectives.
- Coordinate media deals with external organizations to maximize exposure while minimizing costs.

Sales Responsibilities:
- Drive the sale of sponsorship, exhibition, or delegate packages for conferences and expos through proactive outreach.
- Actively seek new customers from various sources.
- Research and execute sales campaigns to attract sponsorship or delegates.
- Collaborate across functions to optimize sales opportunities.
- Attend industry-specific events for networking and business development.
- Build relationships with new accounts and identify new revenue opportunities in untapped sectors.
- Participate as part of the on-site team to ensure seamless event execution.

Reporting Duties:
- Provide the Event Director with weekly updates detailing personal activities and forecasts.
- Capture sales activity data and update the CRM system.
- Complete sales progress reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to keep senior management informed about event progress (e.g., revenue vs. target, activity reporting, etc.).
- Supply the marketing team with market intelligence to aid in campaign development.
- Continuously monitor and research the market using online resources, gathering customer feedback, and attending industry networking events as appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, including operations, marketing, and finance, to enhance client experiences.
