Position Overview:

The Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a crucial role within the organization, contributing to various departments. This entry-level position provides a comprehensive introduction to fundamental marketing principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will collaborate with the Marketing Manager to enhance company profitability and devise effective sales strategies or marketing initiatives across our event portfolios. This role requires a proactive approach to executing comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at increasing website traffic, generating quality leads, and attracting attendees to relevant events through diverse direct and online marketing channels.

Essential Duties:
- Develop, support, and implement field marketing and segment activities to drive sales results.
- Execute marketing campaigns and promotions based on expertise.
- Collaborate with clients to support marketing initiatives.
- Work with corporate and marketing managers to create tailored programs and strategies for various market segments.
- Provide project management and coordination to ensure successful promotions.
- Monitor the utilization of existing sales tools and suggest enhancements.
- Publicize events and collaborate with Account Development to boost awareness and attendance among targeted audiences.
- Propose innovative ideas to generate revenue for clients.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting of marketing, public relations, and communications outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Marketing Managers to execute an integrated marketing strategy for exhibitions and conferences, encompassing exhibitor, conference, and visitor campaigns.
- Contribute insights and ideas to the strategic planning process.
- Analyze existing databases for direct marketing purposes.
- Initiate, direct, and oversee database development to ensure effective marketing channels for target audiences, including sourcing relevant lists for research.
- Manage and report on progress against plans and objectives.
- Establish and fulfill media agreements with external organizations to maximize exposure while minimizing costs.

Job Outline:
- Drive the sales of sponsorship, exhibition, or delegate packages for events through telecommunication.
- Actively pursue new customers from diverse sources.
- Research and implement sales campaigns to attract sponsorship or delegates.
- Collaborate across functions to optimize sales opportunities.
- Attend industry-specific events for networking and business development.
- Build relationships with new accounts and identify new revenue opportunities from untapped sectors.
- Participate as part of the on-site team to ensure the seamless execution of events.

Reporting Responsibilities:
- Provide the Event Director with weekly updates detailing personal activities and forecasts.
- Capture sales activity data and update the CRM system.
- Complete sales progress reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to keep senior management informed of event progress (e.g., revenue versus targets, activity reporting, etc.).
- Supply the marketing team with market intelligence to support campaigns.
- Continuously monitor and research the market using online resources, gathering customer feedback, and attending industry networking events as appropriate.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, including operations, marketing, and finance, to enhance client experiences.
