About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Change Management Specialist to join our team at FirstRand Bank Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving business transformation and ensuring a smooth transition to new standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Project Teams and Business Heads: Collaborate with project teams, business heads, and other stakeholders to develop and implement customized change management strategies that meet specific project and business unit needs.
  • Develop Change Strategies and Processes: Design and implement change strategies and processes to support line managers in implementing new standards and guidelines.
  • Provide Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that employees understand the full scope of change planned for a business area and its impact.
  • Evaluate Change Effectiveness: Assess how effectively change is embedded in the business and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage Change Capacity Planning: Track and update the change capacity planning model, including all sub-project area change initiatives.
  • Conduct Change Impact Analyses: Conduct change impact analyses, change plans, resistance plans, readiness or post-implementation assessments, and change-related training needs analysis.
  • Develop Strategies to Address Barriers: Develop strategies and actions to address barriers and resistance to change.
  • Manage Integration and Capacity Building: Manage the integration and capacity building of various change management projects.
  • Embed Understanding of New Projects: Embed understanding of new projects and prepare and plan for change.
  • Develop Change Support Infrastructure: Develop a change support infrastructure across the business.
  • Understand Change Benefits: Understand change benefits and develop processes to track them.
  • Evaluate Change Culture and Capability: Evaluate change culture and capability across the business and allocate resources to enhance these.
  • Monitor Costs and Risks: Monitor costs for the financial year according to the operational plan and identify, control, and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs.
  • Manage Costs and Expenses: Manage costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Build Relationships and Engage in Cross-Functional Relationships: Build relationships that allow for the managing of expectations, the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights, and the creation of buy-in, and engage in cross-functional relationships to obtain and provide work support.
  • Ensure Implementation of Policies and Governance: Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance, and practice standards across the business.
  • Maintain Knowledge and Research: Maintain knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices, and internal compliance procedures and requirements, and research, enable, and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement.
  • Review Processes and Suggest Improvements: Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimize redundancy.
  • Monitor Customer Feedback and Align Processes: Monitor customer feedback reports and align processes to maximize efficiencies.
  • Provide Regular Reports: Provide regular reports on delivery of services against agreed service level agreements and in terms of overall customer targets.
  • Understand Competencies and Skills: Understand which competencies and skills are required to be mastered to ensure personal development and performance.
  • Manage Team Delivery and Performance: Manage team delivery against goals in the area of responsibility, manage performance moderation, disciplinary action, recognition, and retention processes in line with HR policies and procedures, and participate in Talent Management practices and processes in line with HR policies and procedures.
  • Implement Employment Equity Plan Targets: Implement employment equity plan targets in all recruitment and employee movement activities.
  • Manage Employee Performance: Manage performance of employees by clearly defining goals and objectives and providing direction, coaching, and regular feedback, and ensure conflict resolution and respond to any complaints or concerns.
  • Set Stretch Goals and Motivate Achievement: Set relevant stretch goals for the team and motivate achievement.
Requirements
  • Qualification: BCom Degree / Industrial Psychology / Change Management Certification
  • Experience: 5-7 years Leadership & Management experience
  • Industry Experience: Experience in financial services industry
  • Change Management Experience: Experience in setting up a change management and training capability, change management on digital transformation programs
