Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR and Payroll Officer to join our team at Express Employment Professionals Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the payroll department, including reviewing and inputting new starters, terminations, promotions, transfers, and changes to employee details.
  • Consult with management and owners regarding queries on wage sheets and ensure staff on maternity leave are not paid for the specified period.
  • Prepare and submit EMP 201 and EMP 501 returns to SARS through Easy File.
  • Run and distribute IRP5 documents to managers for employees.
  • Assist with handling TERS queries and ensure employees who form part of multiple stores have the correct additional tax deducted.

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • + 5 years experience with payroll
  • Payroll managerial experience at least 3 years
  • SAGE VIP and Excel experience a necessity
  • Solid experience in preparing and submitting EMP 201 and EMP 501
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, and first-time right
  • Ability to protect confidentiality
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
