Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Labour Relations Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance on labour relations matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Legal Interpretation and Advice: Offer expert legal interpretation and advice to the General Secretary and Bargaining Council staff on labour relations matters.
- Review and Advise on Legal Documents: Review and provide advice on legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
- Monitor and Review Ongoing Cases: Monitor and review ongoing cases and advise management accordingly.
- Represent the Council in Arbitration Proceedings: Represent the council in arbitration or other proceedings as may be required by the General Secretary.
- Liaise with External Lawyers: Liaise with external lawyers and manage engagement of external lawyers as required.
- Ensure Compliance with Statutory Obligations: Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.
- Provide Risk Management Advice: Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management in relation to general compliance and contract management.
- Disseminate Legal Information: Disseminate legal information and requirements to staff and conduct training of staff.
- Review and Advise on Internal Policies: Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
- Develop Strategic Plans: Develop strategic plans for the 'legal team' and assist with the preparation of budgets.
- Manage Compliance Order Processes: Manage compliance order processes and ensure all information is captured and updated on the SAP system.
- General Office Management: Perform general office management duties.
Requirements
- LLB Degree or Labour Law Experience: Possess an LLB degree or have experience in labour law (essential).
- MS Office: Proficient in MS Office.
- SAP Experience: Have experience working on SAP.
- Post Graduate Qualification in Labour Relations: Hold a post-graduate qualification in labour relations.
- Sound Knowledge of Collective Bargaining: Have sound knowledge of collective bargaining.
- Managerial Experience: Possess managerial experience (essential).
- Valid Driver's Licence: Hold a valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
Estimated Salary: R48 000 TCTC
