The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to support our company-specific servers and data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical hardware, physical network setup, and verbal/written communication skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot network issues across Layer-1, Layer-2, and Layer-3.
  • Manage cables, including making, cleaning, running, and labeling.
  • Assist with switch setups and confirm network connections.
  • Update port maps and trace cables.
  • Conduct controlled experiments to pinpoint root causes.
  • Perform failure analysis through testing hardware, system, or firmware.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers.
  • Support global field deployments by maintaining deployment equipment and software.
  • Learn and train on new products.
  • Assist field technicians with real-time issue resolution.
  • Monitor server fleet health for trends and SLA compliance.
  • Use Linux and Windows Command-Line for hardware troubleshooting.
  • Lead pre-work meetings to align on requirements and expectations.
  • Provide daily status updates.
  • Develop and implement customer initiatives.
  • Support field activities by creating SOPs, knowledge articles, and guides.
  • Train on new issues, processes, and tools.
  • Ensure detailed and accurate documentation and feedback to engineering teams.
  • Manage pre and post-work project follow-ups.

Ideal Profile

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a data center technician.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently or more with assistance.
  • Capability to work autonomously or in a team, including remote teams.
