About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team at Amazon Data Services South Africa (Pty) Ltd. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a range of datacenter infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
  • Data Center Operations (DCO): Diagnose hardware and network problems, perform physical repairs, and troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manual Handling and Lifting: Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or CDCS (Certification Data Center Specialist)
