At HR Genie, we are seeking a seasoned Business Development Director to spearhead our growth initiatives in the Retail and HORECA sectors across the Maldives.

About the Role:
  • We estimate a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, to attract top talent.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the HORECA market, its challenges, and dynamics. With a minimum of 5 years of international experience in HORECA sales and business development, you will have a proven track record of driving growth and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development: Identify and target new and existing Retail and HORECA clients. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet company objectives and drive growth.
  2. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct research to understand trends, demands, and competition. Utilize insights to refine product offerings and adapt sales strategies.
  3. Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients. Address their needs to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  4. Team Management: Manage a team of Key Account Managers to ensure effective market coverage.
  5. Account Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement account plans to maximize customer satisfaction and business growth.
  6. New Product Launches: Collaborate with internal teams to introduce and launch new food solutions tailored to Retail and HORECA sectors.
  7. Pricing and Contract Negotiations: Develop competitive pricing strategies and negotiate mutually beneficial contracts with clients.
  8. Training and Support: Provide training and support to clients, ensuring they understand the product range and its benefits.
  9. Sales Performance Analysis: Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies throughout the sales and distribution process.
  11. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to streamline operations and provide comprehensive client support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset for interpreting sales data and making data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for client visits and industry events.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures, with an understanding of Islamic culture preferred.
  • Positive attitude, proactive approach, and capability to manage productive conflict and tough decisions.
