As an Engineering Maintenance Professional at Anglo American, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surface area machinery and equipment. This includes maintaining, installing, and commissioning machines to agreed standards within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend and conduct Safety meetings to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct Risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Respond to Breakdowns and emergencies as required, exercising sound judgment when dealing with complex situations.
  • Ensure that materials, spares, and equipment are readily available for use.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and record results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format.
  • Complete job cards and descriptions of work and spares used (PM's) accurately.
  • Support subordinates by providing clear work expectations and plans.
  • Conduct on-the-job inductions and participate in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices.
  • Report at-risk behavior, incidents, and injuries promptly.
  • Interact with other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Advise defects and abnormalities to supervisors or managers.
  • Recommend employees suitable for career development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2 qualification is essential.
  • Maths and Science knowledge is advantageous.
  • Certified Competent as Boilermaker and Boilermaker Trade Certificate are mandatory.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably acting in the role, is beneficial.
  • Work Management and OM experience is an asset.
