Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker Plater SF to join our Engineering Department. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending and conducting Safety meetings
  • Conducting and participating in Risk assessments
  • Attending to Breakdowns and emergencies as required
  • Ensuring that material, spares, and equipment are available as required
  • Exercising judgment regarding the replacement of components
  • Maintaining a high quality of work
  • Recording results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format
  • Completing job cards and descriptions of work and spares used (PM's)
  • Ensuring that subordinates have clear work expectations and plans
  • Conducting on-the-job induction
  • Supporting, coaching, and participating in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices
  • Reporting at-risk behavior, incidents, and injuries
  • Interacting with other departments
  • Advising defects and abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor or manager
  • Recommending employees suitable for career development

This role requires Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2, Grade 12 Maths and Science would be advantageous, Certified Competent as Boilermaker, and Boilermaker Trade Certificate. Additionally, 1-3 years' experience in a similar role (acting in the role will be an advantage) and Work Management and OM experience is an advantage.
