We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to fill the position of Boilermaker Plater SF Specialist at Anglo American. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical installation and maintenance, with experience in a similar role. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our surface area machinery and equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Attend and conduct Safety meetings to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct Risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Respond to Breakdowns and emergencies as required, exercising sound judgment when dealing with complex situations.
  • Manage material, spare, and equipment availability to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and record results of all legal examinations in the correct format.
  • Complete job cards and descriptions of work and spares used (PM's) accurately.
  • Support subordinates by providing clear work expectations and plans.
  • Conduct on-the-job inductions and participate in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices.
  • Report at-risk behavior, incidents, and injuries promptly.
  • Interact with other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Advise defects and abnormalities to supervisors or managers.
  • Recommend employees suitable for career development opportunities.
Essential Qualifications
  • A Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2 qualification is required.
  • Maths and Science knowledge would be beneficial.
  • A Certified Competent as Boilermaker and Boilermaker Trade Certificate are mandatory.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably acting in the role, is desirable.
  • Work Management and OM experience is an asset.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with risk assessment procedures.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • A successful candidate must undergo a medical fitness assessment.
