Job Description

Your day-to-day duties will be:

  • Attend and conduct Safety meetings.
  • Conduct and participate in Risk assessments.
  • Attend to Breakdowns and emergencies as required.
  • Ensure that material, spares, and equipment are available as required.
  • Exercise judgment regarding the replacement of components.
  • Maintain a high quality of work.
  • Record results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format.
  • Complete job cards and descriptions of work and spares used (PM's).
  • Ensure that subordinates have clear work expectations and plans.
  • Conduct on-the-job induction.
  • Support, coach, and participate in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices.
  • Report at-risk behavior, incidents, and injuries.
  • Interact with other departments.
  • Advise defects and abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Recommend employees suitable for career development.

This role is in the Engineering Department and is a C2 level reporting to the Boilermaker Foreman.

Qualifications
  • Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2.
  • Grade 12 Maths and Science would be advantageous.
  • Certified Competent as Boilermaker.
  • Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
Experience
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role (acting in the role will be an advantage).
  • Work Management and OM experience is an advantage.
Technical Skills
  • Must be able to do standby and overtime.
  • Must be familiar with risk assessment procedures.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
