About the Role

West Coast Personnel is seeking an experienced Operational Excellence Manager to oversee daily meat production operations. This role involves ensuring workflows align with schedules and targets, optimizing production processes to meet quality and quantity goals, and collaborating with departments such as logistics, maintenance, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Supervise daily meat production operations, guaranteeing adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve production processes to achieve operational excellence, focusing on quality and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Food Safety Regulations: Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) to maintain a high level of product quality.
  • Raw Material Monitoring: Regularly monitor raw materials and production processes to prevent contamination and ensure high-quality outputs.
Team Leadership
  • Team Development: Lead, train, and inspire a team to achieve operational excellence by providing guidance, feedback, and coaching.
  • Talent Allocation: Effectively allocate tasks to team members, leveraging their strengths and expertise.
  • Culture Enhancement: Promote a safe and cooperative workplace culture focused on continuous improvement, encouraging open communication and idea sharing.
Health & Safety
  • Safety Standards: Enforce workplace safety standards to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • Training: Provide training on proper handling and processing of meat products, emphasizing employee well-being and product quality.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Metrics Tracking: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, including yields, downtime, and waste.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare performance reports and communicate insights to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in meat processing or a related food production field.
Skills & Competencies
  • Food Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Leadership Capabilities: Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions under pressure.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Technical Proficiency
  • Meat Processing Equipment: Familiarity with meat processing equipment and systems.
  • Software Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office and production software tools.
Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
