**_ Position Purpose:_**

To manage, lead, coordinate and provide strategic direction to the CAPEX Projects Portfolio unit, ensuring optimal alignment

with Transnet Property strategies and business requirements. Development and implementation of the CAPEX projects

delivery strategy for Transnet Property. Develop, and adopt engineering standards and best practices to guide project

implementation and contract management. Lead CAPEX Programme in line with company policy and guidelines. Lead and

direct CAPEX budgeting process and cost control across the Division.

**_ Position outputs:_**

Develop, and adopt engineering standards and best practices to guide relevant project implementation, contract

management.

Develop and lead the implementation of CAPEX Projects Delivery strategy across Transnet Property.

Lead CAPEX projects from conceptualisation to implementation, which includes providing of engineering support for projects.

Track and monitor departmental CAPEX projects performance and provide strategic direction.

Ensure approved projects are allocated to project teams, monitor progress and work quality, ensuring the achievement of

objectives and optimal utilization of manpower.

Ensure successful project completion as per project timelines, scope and budget and appropriately address

non-conformance.

Set appropriate performance & quality standards for the business unit and ongoing monitoring thereof.

Monthly report to be an accurate reflection of status on deliverables and risks

Ensure completion of business unit deliverables in accordance with time, budget, quality, client and industry specifications.

Set service delivery standards and lead the business unit to achieve them.

Report project status against budget and control CAPEX expenses within approved budgets.

Annual CAPEX budget development and sign off by regional management teams.

Manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate communication between Operations & Project Execution teams, clients, and

management.

Building and maintaining positive relationships with all departmental, business unit, divisional and external stakeholders

through frequent communication and feedback sessions.

Ensure adequate staffing for workload, succession planning and effective leadership.

Effective implementation of Performance Management System in accordance with Transnet policy and procedures.

Ensure project and program risks and issues are timeously identified and mitigations and corrective measurements

implemented.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**

Relevant Degree, B.Eng./BSc (Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying or Civil).
Post grad business management qualification, (MDP/PGD/MBA/MBL) is an added advantage.
Project Management Qualification or Accreditation (PMP and/or SACPCMP) is an added advantage.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Engineering/Projects/Maintenance/Facilities environment with 5 years Management
experience.
Project and Contract management experience is a requirement.
