**about us**:
**purpose**:
The function is intended to partner with coverage in performing adesirability assessment on clients, by gathering knowledge of our clients,understanding the nature of their activities, analysis of client data and beingable to understand our client’s behaviour and evidence this appropriately. Thiswill require using key risk sensitive AML criteria with a view todistinguishing high-risk clients from non-high-risk clients and performing enhanceddue diligence (EDD) based on the results. The role will also entail providing AML related support / advise tocoverage and related business units around potential new transactions. To beable to critically analyse and provide advice on a potential transaction/dealstructure will be a valuable skill. The individual will be required to provideoperational support during the KYC process, if required, and finally to applyexceptions where permitted by law. The Client Desirability Analyst will also be responsible for conductingregular and ad-hoc client EDD sign offs and thus assist management infulfilling their duties in ensuring compliance with the Financial IntelligenceCentre Act and related legislation.
**experience and qualifications**:
- B. Com (Hons) or CFA or equivalent degree
Preferred Qualification:
- Post Graduate Qualification, Honors, in Risk Management or similar. (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Experience in a banking environment with an understanding of client on-boarding, KYC (AML) processes and Financial Crime Risk Management.
- Certificate in Money Laundering Control will be an advantage.
- Ability to program or use advance analytic tools would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of AML requirements and best practice essential.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and investment banking products with specific focus on correspondent banking products / services and SWIFT messages and payment flows.
- In-depth understanding of global financial crime regulations.
