Based in our Cape Town branch, the Business Development Representative will be responsible for servicing the Western cape & Northern Cape Regions. Your primary focus and responsibility will to be to be in front of potential customers with less time spent in the office, to drive sales and increase revenue by connecting with new commercial clients, identifying energy requirements, and promoting our top-quality renewable energy solutions.

This position requires excellent business development/hunting and negotiation skills, a focussed drive to source and locate new business as well as a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, and a passion for sustainability and servicing clients.

**Required Qualifications**

1. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales is mandatory preferably in the energy/electrical/solar sector, selling commercial solutions with a successful track record.

2. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is required; experience in solar and renewable energy solutions in a commercial sales context an added advantage.

3. Experience in market research, demonstrating ability to gather customer feedback and market information to drive sales strategy.

4. Strong business development, networking and negotiation skills.

5. Ability to articulate complex issues in simple and clear terms to customers and other stakeholders.

6. Ability to manage a sales pipeline and work with an interdisciplinary team supporting the commercial solar business.

7. Presentable, confident & driven.

8. Excellent Communicator & strong team player.

9. Own Vehicle and valid driver’s license and willing to travel.

10. Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.

1. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to secure new business and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory or market segment.

2. Identify and prospect potential customers, including commercial businesses, wholesalers, developers, installers, contractors, government agencies, and residential clients, to generate new leads and build a robust pipeline within the region.

3. Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and competitors' activities to tailor sales approaches and differentiate our renewable energy solutions.

4. Negotiate proposals/contracts and close sales deals, ensuring that all terms and conditions are properly communicated and agreed upon.

5. Compiling quotes, invoices, statements, and any other documentation to complete projects, assist clients or complete a sale.

6. Responsible for setting up face-to-face meetings to present and demonstrate our products and services to customers, highlighting their features, benefits, and value proposition in a persuasive manner.

7. Preparing weekly and monthly reports & provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and updates to the sales manager or relevant stakeholders.

8. Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, project management, and customer support, to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. This will include maintaining client’s records and files on the finance and CRM systems, assisting clients with customer registration, onboarding, and credit vetting processes where applicable and occasional stock deliveries.

9. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in renewable energy, and share relevant information with customers to position our company as a trusted industry leader. This will include initiating and assisting with training for installers and customers.

10. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the customer base and enhance brand visibility.

2. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new leads and opportunities to ensure a steady flow of sales opportunities.

3. Ensure there is a relationship forged with every level that play a role in the decision making at the customer site.

4. Continuously improve knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights to customers and ensure that the company is viewed as a leader in the renewables industry.

5. Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the company's mission, values, and commitment to sustainability.

6. Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project implementation.

7. Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company through proactive sales efforts and business development initiatives.
